Dear Veronica,
I was a Protestant for 44 years. I converted to the Roman Catholic faith because of Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers Shrine. I was attending my sister who had been quite ill, and a friend of mine told me about the Shrine, and she told me I should get the brown scapular and Rose Petals.
I was listening to the radio one day. I heard Veronica Leuken and These Last Days, and I sent away. I got materials, all the Messages, and I read them. The thing that bothered me most was that
Communion in the hand was a sacrilege, and I thought that I had been having communion in the hand in the wrong way. I believed that--as a Protestant--I thought that we were receiving the Body of Christ. I learned from my reading the Messages that only a Catholic priest is able to consecrate the Body of Christ, and I wanted to be part of that.
I ordered the rosary. I received a green rosary with silver links. I got calendar and was able to come to the Shrine. One of the Shrine workers taught me how to recite the rosary on the beads.
I had asked for a sign from Jesus and Our Lady as to whether it was right for me to convert from the Protestant to the Catholic faith. I had called a friend of mine to tell her about it, and I learned from her that she was interested in reciting the rosary and getting the Catholic Bible. I was able to tell her to get the Douay-Rheims Bible, because I had read it in the Messages, and I thought that was my sign. But when I received my rosary and started reciting the rosary every day, I looked at it one day and the links had turned gold. I knew then that was a definite sign that I should convert. So I started coming to the Shrine and was baptized, became a Catholic in April.
I also had problems with my church in terms of kneeling to receive the Body of Christ. I asked Our Blessed Mother to help, and She gave it to me. She gave me a miraculous picture to prove that I should kneel when I receive Communion.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
My name is Linda Bodas. I converted around four years ago. I was watching a TV rerun, and I remembered saying a little prayer myself. I said something like, "Well Lord, I know these are the end days, and there is something that you want me to do. Just let me know."
A couple days later, I was riding in the subway, and I saw the sign that said, "Your Mother is looking for you." So I wasn’t sure what it was about, but I decided to follow up on this. That’s when my friends and I came to the Shrine, and I was just very taken by what I saw going on. I’ve always considered becoming a Catholic. I just never made that move. I figured this was the Lord’s signal to tell me to make that move, so I converted a few months later. I converted to the Catholic faith, because of Our Lady of the Roses. I feel a lot more at peace, and I feel that my life has meaning now. Before I was floundering.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
We are now in New York City giving testimony of what has happened to our daughter. She’s 13 years old now, and a year ago, she was very ill suddenly, and the doctors didn’t know what it was. They spent more than a week not knowing what was happening. After that, somebody gave us a petal from Our Lady of the Roses. We gave it to her, and she kept it. The illness was located in the leg, then suddenly the doctors knew what was happening. It was a big infection. After a week, having the Petal from Our Lady of the Roses, she started becoming better and better.
A month later, she was almost cured. The doctors now, in that moment, were sure of what it was. The name of it was osteomyelitis. But the thing most important was that our daughter was very convinced, and we also, that the Petal of Our Lady of the Roses made this miracle. Ever since, our daughter keeps the Petal with her; she prays every day. We also do the same, and we’re very convinced that Our Lady of the Roses gave us a miracle.
Now our daughter is 13 years old, and she has grown up almost six inches. The doctors are amazed by the fact that since she had a very big infection in one of the legs, that it was very difficult that both legs would grow evenly, but they did. She is dancing ballet, which is another thing that the doctors are amazed at, because she used to dance, but they were not sure that she would dance it again. But she’s dancing now, and that’s the reason that we came to New York, to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Roses, to say thanks for what has happened.
The diagnosis of the doctors was that it was infection in the bone called the tibia in the leg. The name of the infection was osteomyelitis. That infection put many particles of the blood, which blocked the lung, and one lung was out, and she was living with only one lung. Then having that problem, the doctors decided to perform an operation to see how the bone was. After that, they made the diagnosis of the infection in the bone called osteomyelitis. Now her lung is cured, and she is breathing normally. Her leg is cured, and she is dancing ballet. We believe it was a miracle of Our Lady of the Roses.

On July 25, 1987, on the Feast of St. Joachim and St. Anne, I was given a special grace here on the Shrine grounds. I was praying the rosary with all the people, and out of nowhere, the Blessed Mother appeared in the sky for a few moments, and I saw Her there. The funny thing about it was that She turned towards me and looked at me, and then turned towards someone back a little way away from here, whom I did not see (I assumed it was Jesus.) Then She looked at me again, and then, with Her hands folded in prayer and Her head bowed down, She continued to float across the sky, and then the vision vanished.
I believe it’s the Blessed Virgin Mary who appeared to me, and I thank Jesus Christ for this grace. He knows how much I needed this to strengthen my faith.

I’d like to give my testimonial as to the first time I came to Bayside. Actually, I found out about Bayside through a strange way. Saturday night was bingo night for me.
One night, when I went to bingo, I found one of the messages on my car. I took it home. Two weeks later, I picked it up, and I read it. The more I read it, the more I was interested in it, so I wrote to Bayside. I got the free scapulars and the messages.
In December, I finally decided to make a trip to Bayside. I had no idea what to expect, but something kept urging me to come. I got my brother to bring me and my family down.
When we got to the grounds, it was the first time we had prayed the three decades of the rosary. We had never prayed three decades back to back. I always thought the rosary was just one Our Father, ten Hail Mary’s, and you kept repeating it, and I never realized the mysteries at all.
I remember through the glorious mysteries - I looked at my rosary and it was 9:30 - my children were saying how cold they were. My son was saying his feet are freezing, and another one needed gloves. "Well," I said, "we were totally unprepared." So I took my rosary - it was at 9:30 - I remembered thinking as much as I could, I would love to stay. I had to leave because it’s a long trip back home, and my family’s cold.
When I thought that, I felt something enter into my heart. I felt this heat entering into me. I was kneeling at the time. I got up and I told my husband, "Please take me back to the car," because I didn’t want to faint and get sick on the grounds. As I turned around to leave the grounds, my whole body went limp, and the heat kept getting hotter and hotter. The more I walked - I felt like I was drunk - I was not walking properly. They had to help me. By the time I got across the street, the heat was so unbearable. I started taking off my coat and my sweater. My husband was saying to me, "What are you doing? You’re going to catch pneumonia." I told him I couldn’t bear the heat anymore. So, the minute I took my hat off, the heat just stopped that split second. By the time I got back to the van, I was feeling such a peaceful feeling. I had - no, I can’t explain it. It was just such a wonderful, peaceful feeling.
The next day, we went to church, and I had a devotion to the Mass that I never had before. I felt the true presence of God in the Eucharist. Since then, we returned back to the sacraments, we go to church on the holy feast days, I try to attend daily Mass when possible, we pray the rosary every day, we spend time reading the Bible as a family, and it’s brought our family much closer together.
So I felt my mission is to spread the messages and bring more people to the Shrine. I work now with the Trent area, to bring the buses there.
Another thing has happened. I had a change in personality that lasted six months. It’s an unusual explanation, but I felt the Holy Spirit was working in me. I used to wear shorts and slacks. I no longer wear those. My dress has totally changed. I wear skirts all the time, I dress very modestly, and I try to instill that in my children as far as modesty is concerned. Just reading the Scriptures has changed my whole personality. It’s just I feel the Holy Spirit is guiding me all the way. I used to love to go to dances and parties and stuff. I just don’t like the dances anymore. I’ll go, but I’m not into it like I used to be. I don’t go to bingo anymore. I used to. I spend my time in Scripture reading. I’ve read a lot of books about saints, which is something I’ve always wanted to learn, but I never knew how to go about it. I’ve learned a lot about the saints, too, and I’ve instilled that in my children, because they need role models, especially nowadays, when they don’t have a role model, and there is so much pornography and everything on TV. They need to be instilled in the traditional way and the ways of the saints, where we can always serve God and look towards eternity with Him in heaven.
Oh yes, I believe Our Lady of the Roses has done so much for me. If it hadn’t been for Her instilling me with the grace to be guided by the Holy Spirit, I wouldn’t be here today. I owe everything, especially bringing my family together, to Our Lady of the Roses.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
Before it is too late, I must tell you that prior to my attending the Vigils several years ago, I had a strong desire for alcoholic beverages. Although all drinking took place in my home, I had very little willpower to control it. Following my attendance at the Vigil, I lost all desire for alcohol, and today, several years later, I remain blessed in this way. Truly, Our Blessed Mother and Our Lord removed my problem, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am. I can’t thank Our Blessed Mother and Our Lord enough. Please do so for me.

I could not believe my ears...
Dear Friends,
We here consider this a miracle and so I am writing. I’ve written Bishop Mugavero and Cardinal Ratzinger as was asked in the letter from you February 20, 1987, telling of benefits received.
For over 10 years I have been praying, fasting, and crying for our household of 15 children and 16 grandchildren. To date we are over 40 people. The church changes the world. Changes have been turning our family and myself away from the Catholic church. We have been hurting spiritually and going hungry for spiritual food.
January 1987, one evening I turned on the radio to listen to some peaceful music before I went to bed. I turned to your radio station in New York. I strained my ears as the station came and went. I could not believe my ears because I did not know Blessed Mother Mary was speaking to and through any person in America, and from 1970, and only now we here know. It was an answer to prayers.
I sent in for messages, rose petals, medals, and a video. They came February 21 and 26. The messages came first and prepared us for the video, "The Miraculous Bayside Story."
All of our people here nine, seven children still at home, have been woken up and strengthened in God’s home. We have all been convinced in our hearts that these things have happened here, since February 26, 1987, when we all sat down and watched the story.
My husband had been away from Church and Communion for nine years. He’s now back to Church and Communion, and Confession was first. I had been away from Confession for 13 years because I did not know you had to confess to a priest before Holy Communion, I now know. Also kneeling and receiving only from priests two fingers. We here have all returned to the Catholic Church and we are all baptized Catholics and we will live and die baptized Catholics. I called all eight children, married and away from home. Told them of the Message and video also how I was wrong because the graces are in the Church from God, and we have to go to receive them. All promised to return to Church and Confession first. Ash Wednesday saw us all there, and we continue to go. This Lent season, we all will turn away from sin and return to the gospel.
Blessed Mother Mary has visited our home and she’s still here. I am a mother and I’ve prayed for help so many years and she came and helped me. Mary Help of Mothers keeps helping me. Praise be to God for His Son Jesus Our Lord and Savior and Our Blessed Mother in heaven Mary. I will do all I can with the help of my family to spread the message of Bayside. God will direct me and mine. He’s whom we are and whom we serve.

Dear Veronica,
About five years ago, I wasn’t going to church, and I really didn’t have a very good life. I didn’t know any better, and I went to a gypsy fortune teller, because I had some health problems. What happened was she defrauded me of a lot of my savings, and she must have been working through some very evil spirits or something, because I was actually attacked in my house by these spirits. This occurred in the wintertime.
That something had been chased out of my house since I went last spring, and started coming to Our Lady of the Roses Shrine, and I’ve been coming to the Shrine ever since and talking to the people there. It made a lot of sense out of all that had happened to me, and I really credit Our Lady of the Roses for bringing me back to church and getting my health back in good order.

I have two miracles that I’d like to give testimony to. The first one was in 1983. I had a cervical spine problem, and I had gone to this chiropractor two or three times a week, and I had to wear a cervical collar. It was a large lump on the top of my spine. It was all swollen, as big as an egg, and the doctor couldn’t seem to get that swelling down.
So I came to the Shrine one night, and Veronica was there with the crucifix that Our Lady told her never to be without. She blessed my cervical collar, and she blessed me on the forehead three times.
Then the following week, when I was home, a piece of paper fell on the floor. When I went there, I bent down to pick it up, and I heard this terrific crack in my neck. You could hear it right across the room. That bone went right back to normal. It’s been that way ever since. There is no more pain.
I told the doctor that the swelling had gone down. He said, "Great." And after the swelling went down, I had no pain anymore. The swelling has gone down, and it’s been down ever since. So I told the doctor about it, and he said, "That is wonderful." So that was the end of that.
Now, six months later, I woke up, and I stood in my hallway. My eyes were all cloudy, and I couldn’t see anything. Everything was all blurry, and I thought, well, maybe it’s because I’m not awake yet. But the next day, and the next, it was the same thing. So, I said I better go to see an eye doctor.
So I went to him - the eye doctor. He examined me, and he said that I had cataracts on both eyes. Then he said I might have to be operated on for a transplant. He proceeded to tell me the whole procedure, and how it would be and everything, but he said, "We’ll give you six months, and you come back." So when he told me that, I went home, I put the rose petal on each eye, and I said the rosary to Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers to cure the cataracts. Maybe it will go away and everything.
A few months later, I noticed, little by little, the blurring went away. When the six months were up, I went to the doctor. So I went to see him, and I told him - I said, "The cloudiness is all gone." So he said, "Well, let me examine you." So he examined me, and after he gave me a thorough examination, he said, "I’ve got good news for you. You’re just fine. Say some prayers for me."
That’s the end of that, and I am thankful to Our Blessed Mother for using the rose petal to cure me. That’s why I want to give this testimonial, because some people don’t believe in the rose petals. They think it’s just a rose, and they laugh at you. But they don’t realize that Our Lord has blessed that rose petal, and it takes on a different dimension. When Our Lady said that it’s for cures and conversions, She’s not "whistling Dixie," she means business. I’m proof of that, and I’m just so thankful that She cured me, and I hope the people will be encouraged and start to use the rose petals more and more. I can’t thank Her enough.

Dear Veronica and Mrs. Ferguson,
I went to the Bayside June 15th Vigil this year. There are no words to describe how I feel when I am there. This is not my first time. One week ago, I almost did not make it , because I have asthma, and I had a reaction from something I ate. My whole system stopped on me. While I was under all the support machines, I asked Our Lady of the Roses, Jesus, and the Eternal Father to save my life, to bring me back to my family, which He did.
The day before I got sick, I went to Communion. As I was sitting there, I looked up at Our Lady, and She was smiling at me. But the next day, the priest was giving me the Last Rites. The doctor said 90% of people do not make it back from what I had - my whole system shut down.
I pray every day in thanksgiving to the Eternal Father and to Our Lady of the Roses. Please put this on your files, because if I hadn’t been at Bayside and Our Lady’s grounds a month before, I would not be here today.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
I would like to give a testimony about how my family has been helped by Our Lady of the Roses.
I have a daughter who got a vocation into the convent from Our Lady of the Roses. She went into the convent in 1979, and she has now been a professed nun for a number of years.
I also wanted to give a testimony about a son, who was cured of ulcerated colitis. He was blessed by Veronica in the sick circle. He did not use any prednisones, which he had been using a great deal of, after that, and he did not even have any bleeding. He had previously been hospitalized and had been quite sick, but he did not have any more bleeding. He didn’t use sulfa drugs for a couple of years. Since then, which was a few years ago now, he has been completely cured of that, and when he first got it, the doctor said there was no cure of ulcerated colitis.
I also want to give a testimony regarding my mother. She was an 89-year-old at a clinic, and she was in a vegetative state, and she got a gangrene in her foot. The doctors had said then that it would spread throughout the body and would be fatal. They didn’t amputate, because that would also be also be fatal at her age and in her condition. I used a rose petal from Our Lady of the Roses on her leg and her foot. Within I’d say two or three weeks after that, well, the gangrene, in effect, cured itself. It didn’t spread any further. This is what is medically called ortho-amputation. - it amputated itself. The doctors went in with the scissors - they just entered the room and cut it off and took it off. They had said that it was a miracle. It was such a rare phenomenon that the other doctors were called in to take photographs. The two doctors are Catholics and away from the Faith. But after seeing this miracle, they visited the sacred grounds here - of Our Lady of the Roses - they returned as practicing Catholics, and not only that, but they are going to Mass every day and saying the rosary every day, which they are still doing.
This is my testimony. I wish to give it in gratitude to Our Lady of the Roses and Her Divine Son, and for the love and glory of God and the salvation of souls.

I just want to let you know that in March '95 my mother had heart failure and we had her in the hospital on a heart pump. I put the rose petal on her, led her into intensive care unit. We took the pump off and her heart started working on its own. When she came home she was left bed-ridden and had the worst bedsores any doctor or staff member ever seen. I attached the rose petal on her bedsore bandage and seen how it started to heal. We were told by a specialist, that bedsore she would die with. My mom and I said he was wrong because we have the blessed rose petal, say the Rosary every day (I still do). The nurses were shocked to see it closing and starting to heal. We took 2 years to heal and mom and I thanked Jesus and the blessed Mary. Them mom told me, an angel came down to her and told her, "God was getting her room ready. Someone would be coming down for her soon." Mom's been gone since April '97.
