Personal Testimonies #72 - 81

To Our Lady of the Roses:
I would like to give witness to many miracles in my life, since I started to go to Bayside. I began saying novenas to St. Thérèse for the first time. That Friday, my girlfriend invited me to go to Bayside. That night, I asked the Blessed Mother for a sign that she was really there. Towards the end of the evening, I stood there pleading to the Blessed Mother for a sign. A young woman came up to me and handed me a rose from the altar and said, "This is from the Blessed Mother. She told me to give it to you and tell you that She and Jesus love you."
Since this event, my life has changed radically. I went from saying a few prayers a day to three Rosaries a day. I have been healed of many personal and interpersonal problems. My family relations have improved enormously, and my family no longer criticizes my religious beliefs and practices. I have been given the grace to spread the Rosary devotion in the parish and prayer meetings, and was also given the grace to start a Rosary devotion project in my area.
Our Blessed Mother has guided me by signal graces and signs of everything I do for Her. There are so many areas of my life touched by Our Blessed Mother--the love of Her and Jesus, and there just isn’t room to recount. I just wanted to give witness to believers and non-believers alike, to increase the faith in Bayside and the Apparitions of Our Blessed Mother there.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
I’ve been coming to Bayside, the Vigil site of Our Lady of the Roses, for little over more than a year. I heard of it from my mother. I came up here looking for a miracle for my son. My son was on drugs and alcohol very badly at the time, and he was in a lot of trouble.
Since then, I got my son to come up here, and he has gotten away from the drugs and the alcohol. Not only that, but he has--on his own free will--gone to Mass on Sundays. He is spreading devotion to Our Lady and Jesus to his friends, who were once into hard rock and roll. All the terrible nightmares that a mother worries about, and now he is just completely turned around. It is miraculous, and I thank Our Lady of the Roses for saving my son.
I also had another miracle happen to me, personally, when I was at the Vigil. It was during one of these times that I was here, I was kneeling and praying, and I know that Our Lady likes us to look up in the heavens when we pray the Rosary. This is something that I was never able to do, because I have two displaced vertebrae--the fourth and the fifth vertebrae in my neck--and I have documentation from John Hopkins Hospital, Maryland, of this through X-rays and through a specialist. I have never been able to look up, and I have never been able to turn my head to the left without terrible pain. Not only that, but I was very limited in my movements, where actually I could not move.
Once, when I was up here kneeling and praying, I glanced up and noticed that the clouds had come together and formed the Face of Jesus very clearly and very vividly, and I noticed the lady next to me was looking up at the same time. We nudged each other, and I looked up again, and Jesus’ Face dispersed from the clouds, and a beautiful, huge Rosary appeared in the sky out of the clouds. It was just as clear as could be. Then I noticed that I was looking up, and I couldn’t look up before--I never could. Now all of a sudden, I could look up, and I noticed too that, when I talked to the lady next to me, I could turn my head, and I never could do that before. That was another miracle. So now, I not only pray my Rosary on my knees, but I pray looking up to heaven, and I thank Our Lady of the Roses for this miracle.

Dear Veronica,
I became involved in Our Lady of the Roses Shrine. I was about eight months pregnant with my second child. The doctor told me I had pregnancy diabetes and the baby would die at any time. A couple of months prior to this, I wrote away for information about the Shrine. When I received the package, I went out and bought my first pair of Rosary beads, and I prayed to Our Lady of the Roses. I delivered a ten pound, healthy baby boy, thanks to Our Lady of the Roses.
I made my first visit to the Shrine last year. My husband was a Protestant. We were married in the Catholic Church, and I always felt that it was OK that he was Protestant. I never tried to convert him to Catholicism. I never really prayed for it. I would come to the Shrine and just pray, and I always ask Our Lady to protect my family. Well, my husband announced to me that he wanted to convert to Catholicism. He made his First Communion on Mother’s Day last year, and he converted. Our Lady always protects our family.

Dear Mrs. Lukens,
I have previously received Rose Petals that were blessed at the Shrine by Our Lord and Our Lady. Truly, they have been helpful in conversions!
I have placed one in my son’s wallet, and now he attends Sunday Mass regularly after a long absence. I have given blessed Rose Petals to another friend, who placed them between the box springs and mattresses of her sons’ beds, and now they returned to Confession and Mass!!
These blessed roses have truly brought about conversions, and a friend asked me to write and inquire about receiving more.
Thank you,

I attended the Vigil of Our Lady of the Roses. I had a very severe jaw out of place that needed immediate attention and surgery--which at the time I could not afford--or a kneecap that had to be replaced due to a previous injury. I prayed that evening very hard that I would be able to tolerate the pain, but not for an actual cure. To my surprise, Veronica had shown up that evening, and I was blessed from Heaven by being able to be blessed by the Cross that Our Lady had kissed and given to Veronica, and Veronica also told me, "I bless you with the shield of the Immaculate Conception." And at that time--that very moment--I felt an electrical or lightening effect that started from my head to my toes. I didn’t realize what happened, but I felt so happy and I was overwhelmed. I started to cry at that moment from sheer happiness.
From that time on, I have not had any pain in my right knee or in my jaw. I have not had to have surgery for five years, and the doctors were amazed that my jaw went back into place, from being out from where I could not even put a baby finger between my teeth.
It has been like a grace in abundance for us and our family--not only at that time, but after that. We’ve had many cures and conversions in our family. Even my own husband had left the Church for over ten years, and has returned. He is very devoted to Our Lady, and to Church, and to our Rosary. We’ve had many Baptisms. We’ve had marriages helped through Our Lady--jobs that were impossible to get for family members. Our Lady has just been so gracious with us, and the graces we received were many in abundance in our family. I would like to thank Our Lady of the Roses.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
I wanted to report a most beautiful phenomenon I experienced on the Vigil of the Queenship of Mary, May 14, 1977, toward the end of the Vigil. I was kneeling in the front on the right side slightly under the tree. I smelled the most beautiful aroma of incense all around. It was like Benediction. But the aroma was even more pure and beautiful than what we have in Church. My mind was drawn to God the Father and the Blessed Trinity. (The Trinity is my favorite mystery. I long to go to Heaven and learn of and be with the Trinity.)
What beautiful feelings of peace and love enveloped my heart! The aroma lingered awhile and then faded. Well, I enjoyed what happened and thought about it for awhile.
What a surprise when several weeks later, I was reading the May 14th message, and at the end, there was St. Michael incensing the area, and while he was doing that I had smelled it! What a beautiful blessing. I shall never forget it. I for certain would have to testify to the truth of the apparitions of Bayside.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
Through the grace of Our Lady of the Roses, she has bestowed upon me a cure of sclerosis of the back and spinal column. I had been troubled with this on and off for seven years.
Prior to going back to Our Lady’s Shrine, I had worked for a personal injury attorney. I’d thought I would get the best doctors to take care of me. Then I thought, "Why don’t I just pray to Our Lady of the Roses. I’m going back to the Shrine." So I said to Our Lady, in my own mental prayer, "However small my faith is, please increase it, and if it is good, through your intercession, please cure me of sclerosis"--because my doctor had recommended surgery.
Sclerosis is a curvature of the spine. It’s very painful. It can occur when you first get out of bed in the morning, and when you’re reaching for a file, or working or sitting. I felt it almost all the time. Every time I got up in the morning, I would have to sort of move myself to the edge of the bed, and then get up. And every time I had to do everything related to a back movement, I would have terrific pain.
At the time I had started praying to Our Lady, it had become so intense, that I started my own little program before praying to Her. The third day, with these minor waist exercises--believe me, they were nothing strenuous--I felt worse. That’s when I started to pray to Our Lady of the Roses for this cure, for Her intercession to God, the Almighty Father. After I prayed to Our Lady of the Roses three times, I woke up one morning, and I just sort of bounced out of bed. Everything felt great. I thought, "Something’s different!" and I had no sclerosis pain. That has continued to this very day. I am very thankful to Our Lady of the Roses for healing me. This occurred a year and a half ago.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
I was blind one night, so they took me to the hospital. They called my doctor, and he examined me, and I said, "I can’t see, doctor." Three months ago, I came to the Shrine, and I had problems with my vision--three months ago--so they took me to the hospital. They kept me there for twenty days, and I couldn’t see. You know what I saw--everything was double or I didn’t see anything. So, they examined me The doctor said to me--I do have problems. I said, "What kind of problems?" The doctor said, "Well, it will maybe take about a year, before you will be able to see. You’re not going to see." So, he gave me a year to see, he said--maybe.
So, I came to Bayside--I was blind when I came. That same night I came here, I got my vision back. I had to use a cane, because I couldn’t see. I had to walk like that, because I couldn’t see, so I came here. I talked to my son, I said, "I can see a little better." So, that same night, the Virgin Mary gave me my vision back. I see now clear--I see very well, and I am fine--thank God. I thank the Blessed Mother and I thank God for that.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
I was formerly a member of the Episcopal Church, a Protestant. Then I heard of Our Lady of the Roses, through a message given to my niece, which I believed in right away because I was always interested in prophecy. I saw that Our Lady’s words--Her messages--were true, because it kind of tied in with everything I’ve always read in the Bible and other prophecies, and I believed it right away.
And then, I started coming here. Not long after, I read another message, in which Our Lady told a former Protestant that if he wanted his prayers answered, he should become a Catholic. I took that as sign for me, that I, too, should become a Catholic. I started taking instructions--myself and my daughter--and we both were baptized about a half a year later.
I had been living away from any practice of religion. I didn’t go to church on Sunday--I just read the papers and took it easy. Since then, my life has changed completely. I now go to church everyday. I receive the sacrament of Holy Communion everyday. I go to Confession as often as I can. I say the Rosary as many times as I can each day--both me and my daughter. We try to be as good Catholics as possible, and that is not the only graces that we received. We also were fortunate to have other members of our families converted to Catholicism. I have two nieces and their families--and also my mother--converted to Catholicism. She just passed away in the grace of God, and that is a great consolation to me.
I am very grateful to Our Holy Mother and to Our Lord for all the graces that they’ve given to me. I thank Veronica, also, for taking on a great task of saving souls in this day and age, when everything is so bad in the world. And thank God the Father, of course for everything.
